IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week for 4/14/25

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

Wilma Rudolph was a US Olympic runner who dedicated her life to becoming the best.  She had many accomplishments, including three Gold Medals in the 1960 summer Olympics in Rome.

Like all great athletes, Rudolph did not win every time she stepped foot on the track, but she took great pride in doing her best to compete every time.

Her outlook on athletics was a winning formula, as you can see in the following quote.  "Winning is great, sure, but if you are really going to do something in life, the secret is learning how to lose.  Nobody goes undefeated all the time.  If you can pick up after a crushing defeat and go on to win again, you are going to be a champion someday."
