IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (3/10/25)
"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"
I am a firm believer that sport is a game of habits. The repetitive work you put in will form those good habits (fundamentals) so that in the heat of the battle, actions and reactions come naturally for you in whatever sport you play.
It is the same in other aspects of your life. Habits that you form (good or bad) have an effect on the person you become. Are you respectful? Are you on time? Do you behave when others aren't watching? Are you doing the right things daily to make yourself a better person and prepare you for adulthood?
We all know that sports participation is short-term, however, how you prepare and what you learn will stay with you for a lifetime. By working hard today, you are setting yourself up for success later in life.
As an athlete, today's victories are sweet, but tomorrow's success in life is what you are truly developing!
