IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (2/17/25)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

"I had a purpose before anybody had an opinion."  Super Bowl MVP and Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has made this his mantra for years.  After the Super Bowl he restated it and went on to say, "It's never been about anyone else.  It has been about the journey of embracing everything and trying to grow and be the best I can be."

Hurts plays with a purpose-meaning he knows what motivates him and drives him to be his best.  He has not worried about what others thought about him, even before he was well known.  He viewed his growth and development as a journey and had the mindset that he could achieve great things.  

I would guess that there were doubters and naysayers about his ability and achievements along the way.  Hurts stayed true to his belief and didn't listen to the outside noise.  

When you doubt what you can do or achieve, take a cue from Jalen Hurts and block out the negativity, and dig deep for your purpose, your vision, your dreams.  The journey may be difficult, but it will be worth it!
