IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (12/9/24)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

I was recently watching a college basketball game and one of the commentators spoke about what separates a very good team from those trying to get there.

His point was that there are two key ingredients for those teams that find the most success.  They are Structure and Talent.

He went on to say that if you only have one of these two, then getting to you full potential will be a big challenge.  But if you find a way to have both-they are the key ingredients for success.

Structure on your team falls first to the coach, but as a student-athlete, you too must embrace it.  Knowing your role and what you need to do to make the team successful must come with your acceptance of what the coach is building for your team.

You may not be on the most talented team, but if you have structure that your team buys into, you will still have a chance to be successful!
