IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (11/25/24)

"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"

Any professional athlete knows what it takes to be really good at their sport.  Tony Romo, CBS color commentator and former Dallas Cowboy quarterback, is no exception.  

During last week's Buffalo-Kansas City NFL showdown, Romo offered the following comment during this great rival game.  Buffalo QB Josh Allen rambled into the end zone on a game deciding touchdown from over 20 yards out.  Romo's comment was, "Most teams hope it goes their way, but Buffalo decided to make it go their way."  Romo said it was a testament to their mental fortitude and aggressive approach.

What is your mental approach going into a game/match?  Is it one of, "Well, let's just see what happens" or is it "Let's go make something happen in our favor?"

Sometimes believing in yourself and your teammates, along with preparation, is just enough to get you across the finish line with a hard-earned victory!
