Denny Lewis Legacy of Advocacy Post-Secondary Scholarship
As a fervent champion of education-based athletics, Dennis “Denny” Lewis worked tirelessly to protect and grow the opportunities for Indiana’s high school student-athletes.
To honor the life of advocacy and championing the benefits students receive participating in high school athletics, the Denny Lewis Post-Secondary Training/Scholarship provides financial support to one student-athlete who leads their peers in living lives of determination, sportsmanship, fairness, and other values instilled through education-based athletics. Each year, one (1) student-athlete will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their impact in competition, within the classroom, and on their community.
Leave a Legacy of Advocacy
Serving in multiple roles, most notably as Athletic Director at Jasper High School for the final 17 years of his career, Denny inspired his players, students, and peers to live lives based on the teachings of education-based athletics throughout his 37 years as an educator.
Known for his vim and vigor on the sidelines, Denny's impassioned support was felt by students, players, peers, and all within his community. This scholarship—with funds raised by those impacted by Denny's lifelong mission—serves as his next and last step in investing in the future of our state's next generation of leaders.
