Priscilla Dillow "Seize the Day" Post-Secondary Scholarship
As the first female board member of the IHSAA, Priscilla Dillow was no stranger to leading positive change. A constant supporter and promoter of women's athletics, Pris Dillow believed in leaving a legacy for others.
Founded in 2024 to honor the trailblazing legacy built, the Priscilla Dillow "Seize the Day" Scholarship provides financial support to a female student-athlete who continues to make strides in athletics. Each year, one (1) female student-athlete will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their accomplishment in the classroom and in competition.
Seize the Day with Pris Dillow
In 37 years of work in education, Pris Dillow took advantage of every opportunity to fight for equality and participation in women's athletics. In addition to her role with the IHSAA Board of Directors, Pris was the first female president of the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (IIAAA), a past president of the Marion County Coaches of Girls Sports, as well as numerous other local, state, and national organizations.
Pris' efforts were not just felt in the boardroom but also in the classroom and competitions. Ben Davis High School was home to Pris, leading change as a P.E. Teacher, coach in multiple sports, Assistant Principal, and Athletic Director before retiring as a Giant in 2002.
In the eyes of this trailblazing icon, the right opportunity for change was the current moment. This led Pris to adopt the rallying cry "Seize the Day" to motivate others to continue her work and leave a lasting legacy. The scholarship - with funds raised by Pris' family, friends, former players, and colleagues - continues her impactful and important mission.
