Wilson Continues as Official Ball of IHSAA State Tournaments
The Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. (IHSAA) announces it has reached a five-year agreement with Wilson Sporting Goods Co. to continue as the “Official Ball of the IHSAA”.
The renewed agreement which begins with next year’s fall tournaments calls for Wilson to provide the competition balls at each level of the IHSAA state tournament in 12 different sports through the 2018-19 school year. Those sports include baseball, boys and girls basketball, football, boys and girls golf, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls tennis and, for the first time, volleyball. Wilson has been the official ball provider to the IHSAA since 1990-91.
“We are proud of our partnership with the IHSAA and are excited about the opportunity to renew our Official Ball Adoption,” says Bill Kirchner, Vice President Wilson US Sales. “Wilson is committed to serving the needs of Indiana’s high schools, coaches and student-athletes by providing high quality products that perform at a championship level. Our partnership with the IHSAA began over 20 years ago and we are honored to be able to continue being the ball of choice in Indiana.”
The balls will be of the highest quality, meet rules specifications in each sport and be inscribed with the IHSAA logo for tournament use. Wilson and the IHSAA will deliver the balls to host sites in advance of each event including all sectionals, regionals, semi-states and state finals.
“The IHSAA is thankful to Wilson for providing such high-quality products over the years and we are pleased to announce our partnership will continue to benefit our member schools for another five years,” says IHSAA Commissioner Bobby Cox.
