"Promoting Education-Based Athletics in Indiana"
Every year during March Madness of the NCAA basketball tournaments, there is usually an upset win or two that catches everyone off guard.
This year was no exception. In the men's tournament, Virginia, Purdue and Arizona, all top three seeds or better, lost in the first round.
If you are a high school athlete, especially a basketball player, there is plenty you can take from these unexpected wins (or losses), depending upon which side you were pulling for.
You should always go into any athletic contest thinking you can win. Good players and good teams believe in themselves and their teammates. If you prepare, practice and improve as the year goes on, anything can happen at tournament time. Do you picture yourself and your team winning a big-time game? Sometimes, seeing is believing!
