"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"
Super Bowl LVIII takes place this coming weekend as the Kansas City Chiefs play the San Francisco 49'ers for the title. As always in pro football, the focus will be on the two quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy.
Mahomes is a common household names for NFL fans. Purdy, however, is a 3rd year pro who was selected in the 2022 draft in round 7, pick 262. The last selection each year is deemed "Mr. Irrelevant" and that name will always stay with Purdy.
Purdy has overcome being a 3rd string quarterback, to being ready when his chance came (due to injuries) to lead his team. No one could have predicted the success he would have leading his team, yet he is playing for a Super Bowl ring.
No matter your circumstance in high school (and potentially college), you should still be working on your sport and further developing your skills. Your mind and body are still developing, and you cannot predict the opportunities that may come your way.
At times you may feel like Mr. Irrelevant, but only you will determine your future. Don't look back and wish you could have done more to achieve your goals!
