IHSAA Student-Athlete Tip of the Week (1/30/23)
"Promoting Education Based Athletics in Indiana"
High school student-athletes face a variety of challenges. One of those we have heard more about lately is mental health. What can that look like for you? It can be feeling anxious, overwhelming pressure to succeed, or even depression.
When you are faced with these types of challenges, who do you confide in or ask questions of for help?
I believe your counselors, teachers and coaches at school are great resources and a place to start when you need to talk. They will listen and offer some wisdom and advice. Whether at home, school or participating in sports, if you are struggling with these issues or know of someone who is struggling, don't be afraid to reach out to an adult you trust and share your concerns with them.
Never be shy or ashamed to seek help if you are struggling or need advice. It's much better than keeping everything bottled up inside!
