IHSAA and LifeServers Award AEDs to Two Member Schools

Posted: November 23, 2012

The Indiana High School Athletic Association, Inc. and LifeServers, Inc. are pleased to award both South Adams High School and Whiteland Community High School with a LifePak Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

LifeServers has partnered with the IHSAA in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of having an AED in place within each IHSAA member school. School administrators were encouraged to enter to win an AED by answering a series of questions throughout October, in recognition of Cardiac Awareness Month.

AED’s are vitally important in the event of sudden cardiac arrest, and used in conjunction with CPR, is the only way to save a life.  It is imperative that schools remain diligent with the training of responders, battery and electrode replacement, and ensuring AEDs are available for quick response.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Whiteland Community High School to receive an important piece of safety equipment made possible by the IHSAA and LifeServers, Inc.,” said Principal John Schilawski, who will accept the AED on behalf of Whiteland High School.  “The ability to provide immediate life-saving assistance ensures a safer environment for our students, athletes, and patrons.”

South Adams Athletic Director Jason Arnold echoed the sentiments:  “By receiving this AED unit, South Adams employees, supporters, and fans will be better served by now having access to this life-saving device.  Time is the key when it comes to saving lives, and this will allow us to do that if a situation arises.”

LifeServers is one of the nation’s largest industry experts, and together with the IHSAA, looks to increase awareness, improve education, and provide easy access to AED programs.
