HEARINGS

A hearing was conducted to consider the appeal of Jared Blue, a student at Oak Hill High School.  Jared had been declared to have limited eligibility on the basis of Rule 19-6.2.  A hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and obtain full eligibility.  Following the students’ family and legal counsel for the IHSAA were offered an opportunity to submit findings of fact.  Having analyzed all of the available data, the IHSAA Review Committee voted to uphold the decision of the Commissioner.

A hearing was conducted to consider the appeal of John Trudeau, a student attending Pike High School.  John had been declared to have limited eligibility on the basis of Rule 19-6.2.  A hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and obtain full eligibility.  Following the hearing the student’s family and legal counsel for the IHSAA were offered an opportunity to submit findings of fact.  Having analyzed all of the available data, the IHSAA Review Committee voted to modify the decision of the Commissioner by allowing John Trudeau to have full eligibility after the conclusion of the football season. 

A hearing was conducted to consider the appeal of Christina Keller, a student at New Albany High School.  Christina had been declared to have limited eligibility on the basis of Rule 19-6.2.  A hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and obtain an additional year of full eligibility.  Following the hearing the students’ family and legal counsel for the IHSAA were offered the opportunity to submit findings of fact.  Having analyzed all of the available data, the IHSAA Review Committee voted to reverse the decision of the Commissioner and allow full eligibility on the basis of 17-8.1. 

A hearing was conducted to consider the appeal of Eric Woods, a student at South Bend Washington High School.  Eric had been declared to have limited eligibility on the basis of Rule 19-6.2.  A hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and obtain an additional year of full eligibility.  Following the hearing legal counsel for the students’ family and for the IHSAA were offered the opportunity to submit findings of fact.  Having analyzed all of the available data, the IHSAA Review Committee voted to uphold the decision of the Commissioner.
